I’m Rebecca, the face behind Kalon Skin Academy and the owner of Embellish Beauty. I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 22 years, and helping people feel more confident in their skin has become such a huge part of what I do and love.
Over the years, I’ve built my own beauty business, worked closely with clients through every stage of their skin journey, and seen first-hand how much confidence can grow when someone feels comfortable in their skin.
Kalon grew from that same passion and, if I’m honest, a little bit of frustration too. I’ve seen too many people leave training with a certificate but not enough confidence, and I wanted to create something more personal, practical and genuinely supportive. with a certificate but not enough confidence, and I wanted to create something more personal, practical and genuinely supportive.
Me
Training felt like a natural next step for me. After more than two decades in the industry, I’ve seen how many therapists leave courses still feeling unsure of themselves. They’ve often covered a lot in a short amount of time, but they haven’t always had the space to build confidence, ask questions properly, or really understand the skin in front of them.
That’s what I want Kalon to be different for. I want training to feel more personal, more hands on and more supportive especially for beginners, career changers, and therapists who want to go back and strengthen their foundations.
One of the biggest things I bring into Kalon is that I’m still in it.
As the owner of Embellish Beauty, I’m not teaching from the sidelines. I’m still working with clients, still treating skin and still seeing what works, what clients struggle with and where therapists often need more support.
That means the training I offer is grounded in real treatment room experience and not just textbook knowledge. I think that matters, because students deserve training that reflects real life, real clients and real confidence.
ROOTED IN REAL CLINIC LIFE
Whether I’m working with a client in the clinic or teaching a student in the academy, my approach is the same, thoughtful, supportive and focused on long-term confidence.
I care about helping people understand what they’re doing, not just copy the steps. I want clients to feel looked after and I want students to feel genuinely supported as they learn.
For me, good skin work is never just about what you do on the day. It’s about trust, consistency, care and creating an experience that feels calm from start to finish.
